Binh Thuan’s former leaders arrested for land-related violations

The Investigation Police Agency under the Public Security Ministry has arrested five former leaders and officials of Binh Thuan for State asset mismanagement in land use and housing projects in the province.

They included Nguyen Ngoc Hai, former chairman of Binh Thuan Province, Luong Van Hai, former vice chairman of the province, Ho Lam, former director of the Binh Thuan Province Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Le Nguyen Thanh Danh, former deputy director of the provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and Ngo Hieu Toan, deputy director of the provincial Finance Department.

They were arrested on February 10 on charges of violating regulations on the management and use of State assets, causing loss and waste, in accordance with article 3, clause 219 of the 2015 Penal Code.

Their violations occurred at the Tan Viet Phat 2 Commercial, Service and Residential Area Project (land lots No.18, 19 and 20) on Vo Nguyen Giap and Nguyen Thong streets (formerly called 706B Street) in Phu Hai Ward, Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province.
